“Literacy is not a Luxury; it is a right and a responsibility”
In order to advance life-long learning opportunities for poor and marginalized children. VIVIDH International Residential School in association with Rotary club of karamadai initiated supporting literacy through club project and school partnership.
The main purpose of this programme is to foster literacy skills among the students and the adults in the locality. A Reading Challenge programme – Be Clean! Remain Teen!! with the theme “Cleanliness and Hygiene” was organized and conducted in AD Colony, Kandiyur on 12 Sept, 2021. Under this programme, students of various grades and adults participated. They were awarded with the books to develop their reading and dustbins to keep their surrounding clean. The Programme began by sanitizing the place, followed by the VIVIANS addressing the gathering about the significance of cleanliness and its benefits. Pledge on “Cleanliness” was taken. We encouraged the young minds and the adults to use biodegradable and non – biodegradable bins and also, they were informed about the difference between biodegradable and non – biodegradable waste. We in association with Rotary club of Karamadai sponsored biodegradable and non – biodegradable bins for each street and books for the community library.
And also, we emphasized the public to use only cloth bags not plastic bags. As a beginning, we distributed cloth bags, big shoppers and dustbins among the people.

Indeed, it was delightful day, getting an overwhelming response and great enthusiasm from the public.
